You should not have to take our word for it either.
The AI industry runs on hype scores, cloud leaderboards, and vendor marketing. That isn't evaluation — it's noise. And you are the one who has to make a decision inside it.
AiBenchLab builds practical tools for people doing real work with AI. MARK-17, our flagship product, helps you find the right AI for a job and prove the choice. LYDIA-12, its companion, helps you find more businesses you can help.
What MARK-17 measures
Why it exists
Public benchmarks test under ideal conditions on hardware you don't own. Vendor leaderboards optimize for marketing, not production. Neither tells you what a model will actually do on your machine, with your prompts, for your users.
MARK-17 was built for the person who has to make the deployment decision and live with the consequences. Every test is versioned. Every result is fingerprinted. Every export is tamper-evident. When the data says a model is ready, you have the receipts to prove it.
The MBX difference
Every MARK-17 result can be exported as MBX — a hardware-fingerprinted record sealed with a SHA-256 integrity hash. Auditable. Self-contained. Tamper-evident.
When you show a client a benchmark result, the export records the hardware class it ran on, the model version, and the exact test suite — and anyone can confirm with the open-source verifier that the file hasn't been altered since export. No spreadsheet in the world does that.
Who builds it
Timothy Maggenti has spent more than 40 years building practical systems — across CAD hardware, software, enterprise systems, residential design, consulting, and now AI tooling.
His early career began at CADTronics, where the team built turnkey CAD systems from the circuit board up. He later worked in enterprise systems administration at NEC Roseville, did independent computer consulting, and ran MDB — MAGGENTI Designs and Blueprints, a Central California design firm that produced thousands of residential projects.
That background shapes The Molen Company and AiBenchLab today: build practical tools, test them against reality, and help people make better decisions with evidence instead of hype.
AiBenchLab is built and operated under The Molen Company, the holding entity housing his software work.
"Measure what matters. Publish what you measure. Let the data stand on its own."
— Timothy Maggenti, founder
The standard we hold ourselves to
Built at AiBenchLab. Tested in the Lab. Proven in the field.
The second half of that has to be earned, and we say so out loud. Anything can look good on a bench. AiBenchLab Field Validation is the division that takes what the Lab builds into real businesses, measures what actually happens, finds what breaks, and brings the lessons back so the product gets fixed.
We have no case studies yet, and we are not going to invent any. What we will publish is what we measured — including the experiments that failed.
The fastest way to judge us is the software.
If you have a real job and more than one AI that might do it, start with MARK-17.
